Malta: PBS releases MESC 2017 full televoting results

Two days after this year’s final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Ta’Qali’s Malta Fairs and Convention Centre, PBS has released the televoting results where it is possible to see the exact number of votes every participant received on the night.

16 acts competed for the right to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. They all were previously chosen internally by PBS after receiving more than 150 submissions.

As you can see approximately 400 calls separated Janice Mangion from the victory, which was awarded to Claudia Faniello, sister of former twice Eurovision entrant Fabrizio Faniello, who has tried to reach Eurovision for many years, being now the lucky one for her.

For the first time, PBS decided the winner would be decided solely by the Maltese audience, despite always giving a say to jurors appointed by them.

Do you think it was a fair victory? Would you like to have the same selection system for 2018? Stay tuned for Claudia’s preparations and Malta at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine on the 9, 11 and 13th of May.
