Helene Nissen: «I would like to sing something you can dance and rock out in Eurovision» (German finalist – Interview)

ESC+Plus has talked to Helene Nissen, finalist of this year’s German national selection for Eurovision. Helene will compete in the final of Unser Song 2017 set to take place on February 9th.

ESC+Plus: Hello! First of all, thank you so much for your time and congratulations on having been selected to take part in the German national final for Eurovision 2017!

Helene Nissen: Thank you so much 🙂

ESC+Plus: Can you tell us about you, your musical career and important achievements?

Helene Nissen: I was 14 years old when I gave my own first concert. After that, I have taken part in „Jugend Musiziert“, „Musiktalent“ and „Ostseeresort Festival“ and won a „Jugend Kultur Preis“ prize from a German party

ESC+Plus: What impelled you to take part in “Unser Song 2017”?

Helene Nissen: I’ve always watched the show, so I thought it would be a very good idea to participate 🙂

ESC+Plus: How did you feel when you knew you had qualified for the final? Did you expect it?

Helene Nissen: I did not expect it. But I was veeeeeeery happy, when I got the call 🙂

ESC+Plus: What would it mean to you to represent Germany?

Helene Nissen: It would mean a lot to me. I would love to represent Germany and I think it would be a lot of fun, too.

ESC+Plus: What type of song would you like to sing at Eurovision?

Helene Nissen: Maybe something you can dance and rock out to, that would be fun!

ESC+Plus: Can you tell us about your favorite music style?

Helene Nissen: I looooove blues, but I like all different kinds of music. It really depends on my mood which kind of music I listen to. But fun music is always a good idea! 😀

ESC+Plus: Do you usually watch Eurovision? What is your favorite song in the history of the competition?

Helene Nissen: My family and I, we always watch the ESC together, with loooots of food. I love Lordi and their song „Hard Rock Hallelujah“ They were different from the others and really fun to watch 😀

ESC+Plus: If you could choose a Eurovision song to sing, which one would it be?

Helene Nissen: «Hard Rock Hallelujah“ or Lena’s „Satellite“ But also Loreen’s „Euphoria“ would be really fun 🙂

Helene Nissen: Hi everyone! I am very excited and happy that I am part of the show! I hope you like my performance, and if not: have always fun anyways!!
