Australia: 2017 entry to be revealed on March 7th

What it seemed to be a one-off event as announced by EBU in 2015 leaded to Down Under to remain in the competition so far after achieving two TOP-5 placings in-a-row both with Guy Sebastian in 2015 and Dami Im, last year in Stockholm, where she also took the jury vote.

EBU is still keen on letting the Aussies taking part at Eurovision because quality is more than assured and this year will not be any different. SBS Australia in cooperation with Blink-TV has announced that Dami Im’s successor will be announced on an special program taking place on the 7th of March, to be presented by Australian Eurovision commentator Julia Zemiro.

For the first time and only a few days ahead of the Head Of Delegation Meeting in Kiev, the song will also be presented during the transmission by an intimate performance on stage featured by the act itself.

Hot fan-favorites are well known international Aussie artists such as Kylie Minogue, Sia, The Veronicas, Natalie Imbruglia or X Factor stars such as Samantha Jade or Isaiah, who expressed their desire to fly the Australian flag someday.

Watch Dami Im performing her Eurovision tack «Sound of Silence» recently at the Australia National Day Concert in front of Sydney’s Opera House, she slayed once again!

Australia was drawn to take part at the first semi-final of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev on the 9th of May. Who will follow Dami’s footsteps in the contest? Will it be a solo artist, male or female, or could it even be a group? Check this out on the 7th of March!
